Listed building garage conversion in Tewin

The Clients contacted me regarding their Grade II Listed Building. They wished to convert the existing garage into a new kitchen/dining area.

As the property was Grade II Listed and in a conservation area, I suggested we should initially prepare a pre-planning application and submit it to East Herts District Council for their comments prior to a full planning application being submitted. East Herts Conservation Officer contacted me as he had a few concerns regarding the detailing of the proposed scheme. I arranged to meet him on site to go through the project in hand and we agreed, in principle, what he required.

Following the meeting, I prepared a Listed Building Application and submitted the same to East Herts Planning Department and Conservation Department whereupon planning consent was approved satisfactorily.

The Client also requested me to instruct a Structural Engineer on their behalf, prepare a Schedule of Works, Building Regulations application and as work was required on two trees within their boundary, I also instructed an arboriculturalist to prepare a Report for submission to East Herts Planning.
